BOY VISCOUNT SMACKED.

YOUNG WOMAN AT COURT. A young London woman wlio smacked tho face of a hoy viscount was bound over to keep the peace for six months when prosecuted at Westminster Police Court recently on a charge of assault. She was Miss Marjorie Rodgers, accused of assaulting ' Viscount David Andrew Noel Stuart. Prosecuting counsel said that .Viscount Stuart was a boy of ten, and was the son of Earl Castle Stowart. He was with his nurse in Sloano Street at midday 011 December 14, and had his Airedale dog on a lead. A small fox tcrrior, owned by Miss Rodgers, approached the Airedale and began 1o worry it. Then it went away, but after .it, had gone a few paces—Miss Rodgers had meantime passed tho nurse and the boy—the fox terrier returned to the Airedale, and tho boy, in order to prevent a fight between'them, puii out his foot. Miss Rodgers wheeled round, walked back, and slapped the boy violently on tho cheek.

Miss Rodgers, called bv her counsel, said that her dog was only eight months old, and when it went to tho Airedalo. the boy kicked it. The kick was not hard enough to hurt, but. as she passed shf looked back " out of the corner of her eye " and saw the boy kick tho dog again. She then turned and smacked his face. She wore gloves.
