Wheat. —Cargoes are steadier in ton«. Influenced by firmer overnight _ cablegrams, sellers to-day raised their quotations 3d. Trading was fairly active. Parts of cargoes sold as follows: —By the Treherbert (bulk), 28s 4Ad; Wear wood, 28s 9d nett; Cragpool, 29s 3d; Victoria City, 29s nett; Brookwood. 295; Glenbarik, 29s 3d to 29s 6d; Newton Beech, 29s 4jd. A New South Wales cargo, April-May (bulk), sold at 29s 6d, and a South Australian cargo, May, at 29s 6d. Parcels are in moderate demand and sellers are inclined to demand an additional 3d. Trading failed to expand to-day following disappointing initial American and Argentina cablegrams. By the Port Brisbane, 295; by the Anten, 29s 3d; by a South Australian vessel in March, 29s l£d; by a Now South Wales vessel in April, 29s 6d. Futures. —London: February and June, 27s Id a quarter. Gold is quoted to-day at £5 18s lOd .an ounce, compared with £5 18s 9d yesterday. Silver is quoted at 19 13-16 d an ounce spot and 19 15-16 d forward, same as yesterday.
