REPORTED AIR CRASH.
SEARCH REVEALS NO TRACE.

Unconfirmed reports were in circulation last evening that an aeroplane had been seen flying over Banks Peninsula and had crashed in a gully below the Hilltop Hotel. The police and local residents instituted.a search, but found no i race of a wrecked machine.
Later accounts discount the theory that *n aeroplane has crashed.
