AMERICAN GANGSTERS.
DEATHS FROM GUN-FIRE. (Received February 2<i. 12.5 n.ni.) NEW YORK. Feb. 25. It is estimated that 25.000 gangsters have been killed by gun-fire since prohibition came into force in the United States. A leading financier in New York suggests that one real cause of the depression is the hoarding by bootleggers and racketeers. Several hundred thousand of these men, a proportion of thfem with considerable wealth, fear to deposit or invest their illegal funds. Their one object in life is lo avoid paying income-tax.
