PHAR LAP'S CAREER.
CHANCE OF SPECIAL RACE. (Received February 25, 5.5 p.m.) NEW YORK. Feb. 24. Mr. Victor Schaumburg, racing secretary of Saratoga and Belmont Parks, says he has advised Mr. D. J. Davis, part owner of Pilar Lap, that there is a possibility, following discussions with Mr. Joseph Widener and others, that a special race may be arranged in the east for the Australian horse this summer if lie shows his usual form at Agua Caliente. However, it appears that opportunities for Phar Lap to enter the regular eastern races are few, as 'virtually all the big handicaps suitable for him arc already closed.
