CONDITIONS IN THE SOUTH.
Auckland.—A boisterous south-west wind and showery weather were experienced early yesterday morning, but th» conditions improved during the day. Af.'er falling to 29.80 in. early in the morning the barometer rose during the day and registered 30.00 in. last nfght. - Wellington.—After early morning rain the skies gradually cleared and from noon onward the sun shone brilliantly. Ih® wind was light from the north.
Christeliurch.—The weather was sunny and pleasant, with a very light northeasterly breeze in the morning, increasing to a strong breeze in the afternoon. Tha barometer, after falling, was rising slowly last evening and registered 29.80 in. Dunedin.—The weather was fine, but was more overcast than sunny. Thera was a light breeze from the north-east. The barometer was steady last evening and registered 29.70 in.
