It is understood that the final draft of tlic Unemployment Bill,®involving a proposal for increasing t lie wages tax, has not been approved yet by the Cabinet. A difference of opinion is believed to exist among members of the Ministry as to the amount by which the tax, at present threepence in the pound, should be increased. A levy of one shilling in the pound has been suggested in some quarters.
