The presence of a number of visiting horses who are to compete at the To Aroha meeting, opening 011 Saturday, gave additional interest to the track work this morning, the gallops taking place on the course proper, with tlie trestles 55ft. out. The weather was showery. Exaggeration accounted for Lucky Alice by a length over five furlongs in 1.4 1-5. Master Lu beat Good Run over four furlongs in sl)s. Principal and Imperial Prince ran three furlongs in 39 2-5:1 Miss AlLiyn boat Arch Eagle by half a length over four furlongs in 523. Holly Lu, Greek Gold and Keith Hall were associated, in a half-mile spnilt in 51s, finishing in that order. The four Hcrrics Memorial Cup candidates. Antique., Volimond, Peter Jackson and Awaken, broke away from the mile post in line, and in a vigorous finish Antique, with a light weighty was a neck in front of Volimond, ridden by Kecsing, with Peter Jacksoil and Awaken a length away, the distance being run in 1.48. Attentive, Airtight and C.lengtar went together over seven furlongs in 1.33. the last-named having a slight advantage at the post. Master Brierly bent Mnngatoon by a neck over four furlongs in 535. ELLERSLIE TRAINERS' TEAMS. Unless any change in plans arc made, today. all the Ellerslie horses engaged at Tc Aroha will keep their engagements at the meeting. The first of the Elle.rslie brigade deparled yesterday, when D. P. Monighuii left by train with Whirlalong, J. I>. Kemp with Mtilikill, A. Kemp with Pututahi. and W. Kemp villi High Finance. Other trainers leaving by train to-day are H. Rama with Mnnawhcjiua and Taneriri. F. Stenning with Desert Star, and (I. Holland with Karangapai. F Gilchrist is making the trip by motor-float to-day with Puriri Park and Vandyke, and L. M. Manson is doing likewise with Great Emblem. E. C.
