NEW FILM FOR STRAND.
"GOLD DIGGERS OF 1932." Splendid entertainment is offered patrons of the Strand Theatre to-day, when " Gold Diggers of 1932" will commence a, season. Mary Brian, popular actress of demure roles, is allotted a part which displays lier ability for dramatic performance. Geoffrey Kerr, successful actor of tho London stage, exploits the greater range of tlie audiblo screen, and scores ii greater success than lie enjoyed in the legitimate theatre. Johnny Ilines, famous comedian of the silent screen, handles the comic relief with a skilful hand, and the remainder of the players are exceedingly well cast. Lavishly directed, and with a wealth of beautiful technicolour, the vital drama of the story is brilliantly conceived and no less vitally executed. Louis Sarecky, who was responsible for the direction of " Cimarron," the epic of 1931, supervised the production of " Gold Diggers of 1932," and the result enhances his reputation. The plot will not fail to interest. It is replete with humour. Johnny Hincs, who impersonates the bride at a wedding ceremony, will make the most jaded theatre-goers laugh. With moments gay and sad, whimsical and pathetic, and with an enchanting heroine and unsurpassed cast, " Gold Diggers of 1932" will linger long in the memory.
