WILLIS OF THE POSEIDON. KING PRESENTS ALBERT MEDAL. <Received February 21, 5.5 p.m.) British Wireless. RUGBY, Feb. 23. King George held the first investiture of tho year at Buckingham Talace today. Among those decorated was Chief Petty Officer Willis, who received the Albert Medal for great heroism displayed in tho Poseidon submarine disaster. After tho ceremony Willis had a private audience with His Majesty, who talked with him for several minutes. Largo crowds cheered Willis as he left tho Palace. The official description of Willis' deed recalls how ho ordered tho men to put on the escape apparatus, kept up their spirits, and by his confidence, ability and power of command in a desperate situation saved many lives.
