ACCIDENTS AT SCHOOL.

QUESTION OF LIABILITY. disclaimer by eoard. The question of liability in respect of accidents to children while attending school was discussed at a meeting of tha Auckland Grammar School Board vesterdav. A letter was received from the headmaster of the Mount Albert Grammar School. Mr. F. W. Gamble, giving details of an accident in which two boys collided at the intersection of two corridors. \ A claim for damages in respect of injuries sustained by one of the boys had previously been received from the lad s parents by the board. Responsibility had been disclaimed by the board, but it was the intention of the claimants to approach the Education Department in the matter. The headmaster's report is to be forwarded to the department. The board considered that it could not be held liable for damages. Such accidents were not covered by any kind of insurance. "It is a marvel to me that more boys are not injured in accidents at school,'* remarked Mr. A. St. Clair Brown.
