SCHOOLS' SPORTS.
MEETING AT NORTHCOTE. Tlie schools associated with the Northcote District High School are to hold a combined sports gathering at the Korthcote High School grounds on Saturday, April 2. J his course was agreed upon at a conference of representatives of staffs and committees of the High School and the Northcote, Birkenhead, Birkdale. Glen field and Albany primary schools, at which JMr. H. Shaw presided. A sports programmo was ae.opted, comprising 23 events for the primary schools and six house events for the High School. An executive, consisting of representatives of the staffs and committees of the schools within the area, was appointed, of which Mr. 11. Shaw is the chairman and Mr. J. F. Potter the secretary Arising out of the decision to hold combined sports, the suggestion was made that the local schools should run their own cricket, football, basketball and similar competitions, and so make the district self-con-tained both in respect to education and school sports.
