BUTTER THAT SPREADS.
Sir, —We have been hearing quite a Jot recently regarding tho advantage Danish butter has over New Zealand butter in this respect. To assist our country to overcome this menace to our main industry. 1 submit the following:— That all butter manufactured for export in New Zealand contains only 10 per cent. moisture. This, would be a saving in boxes, paper, etc. That a central depot he established in London for all New Zealand butter, with specialists in charge, where an additional, - say 5£ per cent., moisture would be added and tho butter would "spread" quite easily. Merchants would bo sure of getting New Zealand butter at (.his depot. We all have put butter in the oven on a frosty morning 1 o melt and we know that after putting it on bread it is very distasteful. It is little wonder that the English housewife requires butter with a spread. Spread.
