STRUCK BY MOTOR-CARS.
TWO HOSPITAL CASES. TAXI DRIVER SERIOUSLY HURT. Severe injuries to the head were received by a taxi-driver, Mr. Mitchell Walter Karew, aged 39, of 7, Wolseley Street, Morningside, as the result of being knocked down by a motor-truck at the corner of Symonds Street and Wakefield Street early yesterday afternoon. Mr. Karew was crossing the road when the accident happened. The injured man was conveyed by the St. John Ambulance to the Auckland Hospital. His condition at a late hour was reported to be serious.
While crossing the New North Road, near the Mount Albert tram terminus, about six o'clock last evening, Edgar Moore, aged 12, whose parents reside at 3, Prospect Terrace, Mount, Albert, was knocked down by a motor-car and received internal injuries. The boy was taken to the hospital. His condition is not regarded as serious.
