AUCKLAND HOME SERVICE.
The committee of the Auckland Home Service Association held its first meeting of the year recently, the president, Mrs. J. T. F. Mitchell, presiding over a full attendance of members.
Feeling reference was made to the death of Mrs. J. M. D. Heather, a late member of the committee, and also to the loss experienced by another member, Mrs. St. Clair lnglis, in the death of her husband, and a resolution ol sympathy was passed.
The manager's report showed an increase of membership for the month, as compared with tile same month last year, o f 60, and also an increasing interest on the part of the employing public in the activities of the association. All annual subscriptions were renewed, and Mrs. Williamson reported great success in placing experienced workers. Gratifying reports of satisfied members, both employers and employees, have come to hand, and the committee congratulated the manager, Mrs. Williamson, on her success at tlio often difficult task of suiting the various applicants to the positions.
It was decided to hold a jumble sale at an early date to augment tlio funds
