VALUES AT FRANKTON. INCREASE FOR OX BEEF. [from our own correspondent.] HAMILTON. Tuesday. Fairly keen competition was experienced for an average yarding of ox beef at ths weekly stock sale at the Fra.nkton yards to-day and values for good Quality animals sliowed an appreciable improvement on late rates. A steady demand existed for fat cows, the prices realised for a small entry showing little variation. Store and. boner cows met with a dull market. Fat ewes and wethers came forward in usual numbers and met with a steady sale at values fully up to luts quotations. Prices for an average offering of fat lambs advanced alightly. A further increase wns recorded in the values for fat pigs, a heavy yarding of which sold under spirited competition. Stores and weaners were slow of sale. The auctioneers quote as follows :

PRICES AT TAUMARUXUI. [BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] TAUMARUXUI, Tuesday. A special yarding at the stock sale today comprised over 4000 sheep (mostly ewes), a few head of cattle, and 35 pigs. There was the usual large attendance of farmers, but there was an absence of outside buyers. Consequently there was no spirited bidding. There was a decided drop in pi? values, and cood quality slip 3 made from 7s to 9s. Small weaners made from 3s Gd to ss. Ewes were very hard to quit. After the sale a few fat wethers made lQs ltd. and two-tooth wethers sold to 10s: twotooth ewes realised 8s: and four-year-old ewes, from Kirikau. made 7s 4d. HORSE FAIR AT PUKEIvOHE.
