MOUNT ALBERT TRAMS.
SYSTEM OF SECTIONS.
REQUEST FOR ALTERATION
In reporting to the Auckland Transport Board yesterday regarding a request for the alteration of sections on the Mount Albert-Avondale tramway route, the manager, Mr. A. E. Ford, recommended that consideration should be deferred for six months.
Mr. Ford stated that if tlie section were from the present Mount Albert terminus outwards to Richardson Road, all passengers from the well-popu-lated area round Richardson Road would travel for the same fare as to the old terminus. This would mean that receipts would be less, with the consequent difficulty of meeting standing charges as well as operating costs. As the extension had only recently been opened, there had been no opportunity of thoroughly gauging the traffic. The recommendation wag adopted.
