WORK OF W.C.T.U.
NEW BRANCH FORMED. A well-attended meeting of the ladies of the St. Heliers Bay, Kohimarama and Mission Bay districts took place at the residence of Mrs. Lewis Eady on Wednesday afternoon, when a new branch of the W.C.T.U. was formally inaugurated. This new local union starts upon its career with a membership of 17, its oflicers being Mrs. Wooller, president pro tem. ; Mrs. Court, secretary; and Mrs. ,J. A. White, treasurer. The president for the district, Mrs. Hugh Kasper, organised jhe establishment of the branch and initiated its members, assisted by Miss Read, vice-president for the district, and Mrs. Carr, the district secretary. Mrs. Kasper gave an appealing address, descriptive of the wide scope of W.C.T.U. activities. A programme of music and recitations was provided by Miss Read, Mrs. Neave, Mrs. Gray, Mrs. Lewis Eady and Mrs. Fred Daldy.
