FLIGHT TO AUSTRALIA.

BRITISH AIRMEN START. MARSEILLES-ROME STAGE. (Received February 19, 5.5 p.m.) LONDON, Feb. IS. Flight-Lieutenant Leslie Hamilton and Flying-Officer R. K. Coupland left Lympne this morning in a Puss Moth aeroplane on a flight to Australia and back. They propose to fly night and day and expect to reach Darwin on W ednesdav. The fliers arrived at Marseilles and left there for Rome. FORCED LANDING MADE. CHANCE OF RECORD VANISHES. * (Received February 20, 1.25 a.m.) ROME, Feb. 19. The two airmen Hamilton and Coupland were forced down in a gale at Grosseto. They have lost so much time now that their chances of beating the record have vanished. The fliers were taken to the police station at Grosseto to explain why they landed.
