STREETS WITH TWO NAMES.
SOLVING A DIFFICULTY. An old controversy, tho subject of many quarrels, has at last been settled in Caernarvon with a solution that matches the ancient stories of the wisdom of Solomon. The streets in Caernarvon aro to havo two names each, one in Welsh and ono in English, and both names will be put up on tlio plates at tho end of eacli street. Originally the names of the streets in Caernarvon wero in Welsh, but many years ago these were altered to English. Welsh-speaking people claimed that Caernarvon, which is one of the strongholds of Welsh tradition and old Welsh custom, should have its streets named in Welsh. English residents and business people maintained that, terrible confusion would result if High Street became Ystryd Fawr. Henco the compromise.
