OBITUARY.
MR. - T. 11. B. WAYNE. Advice has bepn received in 'Auckland of the death, early in January, at Melville, Natal Coast, South Africa, of Mr. T. H. Babington Wayne in his 58th year. His death occurred after a long illness. Born at Milton, Otago, a son of the late, Mr. Frederick Wayne, he was educated at the Milton District High School and subsequently qualified as an associate of the Otago School of Mines. After mining experience at, Tuapeka, and Kaitongata he obtained a position with an English syndicate on the Thames.Peninsula and then worked for a mining company in Western Australia. Proceeding to South Africa he did successful developmental work, but ill-health caused his resignation and he retired a few years ago. In 1907 he married Miss N. E. Newton, who survives him. He leaves a daughter, Miss Ethel Babington Wayne.
