COLOUR BAR AT "HOME. ATTITUDE OF CONTROL BOARD. LONDON', Feb. 5. The British Boxing Board of Control announces that its recognition of the bout between Gains and McCorkindale has been misconstrued as meaning that the colour bar has been lifted in Britain, The Dominions may please themselves regarding I lie eligibility of coloured boxers to compete for Empire championships, but for the British championship the present rule barring coloured men stands. Larry Gains (Canada) and Don McCorkindalo (South Africa), fought a draw on January 28 at Albert Ilall. They arc to meet again in March for the Empire championship, but the board's decision prevents Gains from contesting the British title. CARNERA IN GERMANY. DEFEAT OF E. GUEHRING. BERLIN, Feb. 5. Priino Camera, the giant Italian boxer, defeated the German heavy-weight, Ernst Guehring, who retired in the fifth round of their contest with an injured foot.
