Hain fell during the fiist three races of the Gisborue Rucing Club's Summer Meetins, but the weather then cleared and the remainder of the events were run in good weather. The course was in very good condition. The totalisator investments were £4752, compared with £7520 for the second dny last year, a decrease of £27CB. Showery vonditions affected the attendance to so-ne extent and a cold wind made conditions unpleisant .The rain, however, was insufficient to make any material difference in the coin?. The Uisborne-owned and trained Little "Wonder a-dded another to her list oi successes when she accounted for the opposition in ''he Tarnhera Hack Handicap. She went to the front from the start. and. holding off the rfst of the field, won comfortably. The htydlc race was contested hy only four runners and Jtirnished another disappointment for the supporters of the favourite. Russet Moor. The winner. Sirni'on. contested the lead with Tall Timber for most of the way <md eventually won by about a length. Toll Timber made a very creditable showing. The favourite finished a close third. In the Jnvynile Handicap Stitch scored an easy win, heating Master Frank and Princess f'tar with ( ia- fine run in the straight after being well placed throughout. The race for the Gold Cup resolved itself into a duel between Malahat. a warm favourite, and Bob In. owned by Mr. D. J. Barry, president of the club. Bob In wrested the lead from "White Wings and looked a good tiling a furlong from home, but at the *nd won by only a nose from Malahat". The latter covered fully a mile practically at the tail of the field, and when he t'Die forward - in the last two furlons-s had a good 'leal of extra ground to cover. A Mnmn Sun was third, a length away from Malahat.

Brodie up, gnlloped a mile with Royal Limond in J.lB 3-5. The Cup candidate finished well when mildly shaken up ot the finish, and will strip very fit on Thursday. Bachelor's Idol and Bold Brigand finished together at the end of eix furlongs in 1.19 2-5. with the former travelling the better at the finish. Gold Paper. Fine "Weather and River Gold brokn away on the rails and run in company to the fur turn, when the last-named dropped bacll. Shortly after rounding the turn.
