SECRETARY RETIRING. MR. W. NASH'S INTENTIONS. [BY TELEGRAPH. —PRESS ASSOCIATION.] WELLINGTON, Saturday. Mr. Waller Nash, INI.P. for Hutt, has decided not. to seek re-election to tho secretaryship of the New Zealand Labour Party, 011 account of tho pressure of Parliamentary duties. His successor will be appointed at the Easter conference of the New Zealand Labour Party in Wellington. Mr. Nash has been secretary of the New Zealand Labour Party since 1921. After unsuccessfully contesting the Ilutt seat at the 1925 and 1928 general elections, he was returned in December, 1929, at the by-election occasioned by the appoint inent of Sir Thomas Wilford to the High Commissionership in London. He retained the seat at the 1931 general election. Since his entry into politics Mr. Nash has carried on his secretarial duties, in conjunction with an assistant secretary. In addition to his major activities, the member for Hutt has been for many years associated with the Church of England Men's Society.
