HYENA AND HIS LAUGH.
DEATH OF " PUNCH II." " Punch 1T.," tho hyena whose "laugh" was broadcast by the 8.8.C. from the Zoo some time ago, lias died at the ripe age —for hyenas—of nine years. Apparently it is not every hyena that develops a " laugh " in captivity, for the laugh is naturally llio fightng cry ovpr food. " Punch " laughed in anticipation of his daily bucket of raw horseflesh. Now that lie is »>o more, the keeper is turning his attention to training " Slinkcr " to bo his successor, He is nt. present so youthful that his voico has not yet broken..
