MARRIED MAN ACQUITTED
The trial of Robert Dovereau Cavanagh, 8 married man, on a charge of attempted rape at Waimatenui, North Auckland, was continued before Mr. Justice Herdman in the Supreme Court yesterday. Tho iury returned u verdict of not guilty. Thomas Grogan was charged with having unlawful carnal knowledge of a Maori g rl of 13 years at Kawili, North Auckland, on November 27, and also with indecently assaulting and assaulting (lie pirl. Grogan, who was «aid to have been a swagger in the district, pleaded not guilty No evidence, was called for the defence. Accused was found guilty by the jury and was remanded for sentence.
