NEW FIRE DISTRICT.

MORRINSVILLE PROPOSAL. [from our own correspondent.] MOR R INSV]LLE, Thursday. The question whether Morrinsvillo should be declared a lire district was discussed at a public meeting on Monday. The Mayor, Mr. W. T. Osborne, presided. • Tho Mayor stated that he had called the meeting to give all the information possible regarding the proposal to bold a poll. Tho council had carefully considered the matt pi and had referred it to a special committee. The fire brigade' had been consulted and the firemen were unanimous in their preference for a fire board. Members of the council thought that residents would have far better protection of both life and property under a fire board than they have at present and the cost would be no greater.
