EVIDENCES OF TRAGEDY

LONDON. Feb. 2. The First Lord of the Admiralty, Sir B. Eyres-Monsell. after detailing the circumstances surrounding the loss of the submarine M2, said there was a complete absence of floating wreckage, but oil and air bubbles were an unusual feature.

When the last obstruction was located, the cap of the coxswain of the M2 was found floating in the sea. Beneath the surface was found a canvas bag containing the submarine's handflags and a petty officer's collar.

A full inquiry will be held at the earliest convenience, but until the M2 is found and examined, the cause of the disaster must remain a mystery.
