PLATE GLASS SPLINTERS.
MISHAP AT REMOVAL.
MAN'S KNEE DEEPLY CUT
[BY TELEGRAPH. OWN CORRESPONDENT.] WHANGAREI. Wednesday. An unusual accident occurred this morning to Mr. Jackv Kemp, of the firm of Kemp and Rentie, builders, while engaged in the removal of a plate-glass window from Mr. F. Crosby's draper}* shop at the comer of Bank and Cameron Streets. The glass had been cracked by the heat of the recent fire at. the Farmers' Trading Company, Limited's premises. Without any warning the glass splintered across the centre and Mr. Kemp, who was near the top of the ladder, was hit by a piece and knocked to the footpath. A large fragment of glass fell across his right knee, inflicting a deep cut. H« was taken to the Whangarei Hospital, where wound was stitched. Others engaged in the removal of th® window escaped injury.
