Struck by a "race" of six trucks laden with coal in the Mac Donald mine this afternoon, Mr. George Robert Scott, aged 59, married, with no children, received injuries from which he died shortly after he was removed from the mine. Mr. Scott had been transferred from the Glen Afton mine to the Mac Donald mine only yesterday. He was walking up an incline on his way to inspect the workings in the mine, at which he was engaged as underviewer of No. 1 section. He was probably not fully acquainted with the routine of his new work, and it is stated that he did not notice ths approach of the trucks until it was too late to escape. A warning shout was given, but he did not hear it. He was hit by the first of the six trucks running down the incline. His injuries were very serious and he died shortly afterward.
