BRIDGE BY RADIO.
BROADCAST THIS AFTERNOON.; [BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.! WELLINGTON, Wednesday. Bridge enthusiasts may take part in a novel tournament to-morrow afternoon by radio, for the first world tournament ii to be played. At midnight, January 20, there will bo broadcast from New York a series of hands which are to be played out, j and results of which may be forwarded to American Consulates or to the International Bridge Club, New ork. Ely Culbertson, the famous authority on contract bridge, promoted the tourney, and the honour of being among those to play the hands rightly will rest with the players who submit, sealed accounts of the bidding and fall of the cards. Midnight in New York is 4.30 p.m. m New Zealand, but the broadcast is to be repeated at. intervals for those who do not pick it up the first time.
