RETIRING AMBASSADOR.
GENERAL C. G; DAWES. f APPOINTED TO NEW "POST. ■WASHINGTON. Jan. IflU President Hoover has selected the retiring Ambassador to Britain, General C. G. Dawes, as head of a new £400,000,000 reconstruction corporation* The Secretary of State, Mr. H. L. Stim* son, will replace him as head of the United States delegation to the Geneva Disarmament Conference. General Dawes .states that- his : resignation as Ambassador will become effective immediately in view of his new appointment. He- had intended to resign in the spring.
