NEW GERMAN TARIFFS.
SWEEPING ALTERATIONS. EFFECT ON DAIRY PRODUCE. NEW ZEALAND AND DENMARK. By Telegriph—Press Association—Copyright. (Received January 20, 7.35 p.m.) LONDON, Jan. 20. Tho Berlin correspondent of the Daily Express says sweeping tariff changes will bo introduced in Germany to-day through an emergency decree directed against countries with depreciated currencies, particularly Britain and Denmark. II is expected that the present duty on Daniiih butter will be doubled. The duty will also be a blow to Australia and New Zealand produce, as in addition to a narrowing of the German market it will face increased competition on the British market.
