Our Christmas Campaign.

GIRLS AND BOYS' CONTESTS. ?' Our Christmas Campaign!" That seems to bring Christmas very near, doesn't it? Only five > weeks more, and all the excitement of Christmas pages, Christmas trees, visits from Santa, and holidays just around the corner! So, of course, with the great day of the year looming close, we must get busy at once with our Herald Brigade Christjnas Campaign. And you will be interested to know that it is to be something quite new and different this year from anything we have ever done before. This year, we are going to help Sister Pat, of the City Mission. She is going to write you a personal Tetter next week, and tell you all about a scheme we have decided upon, ono in which I know you will all bo extremely interested. Meantime, I am just going to announce some competitions, which will also bo in aid of the poor little girls and boys looked after by the City Mission. Tho first is a girls' doll-dressing contest. Two Cash Prizes of Five Shillings will be paid for the best-dressed celluloid dolls, large and small, the doll not to cost more than two shillings. We are awarding two prizes because some country members may not be able to get a large doll, and a small one may be just as daintily dressed as a large one. The clothes must be cut out and made entirely by competitor. FOR THE BOYS. A Cash Prize of Five Shillings for the best home-made toy, or set of furniture, from the boys. Any material may be used, any class of toy selected, so long as the work is your own unaided effort. Also Consolation Prizes. CHRISTMAS SCRAP BOOKS. The third contest is a Christmas scrapbook competition. Members of the Brigade do not need telling about these, they have sent in such beautiful work for the last six years! But new readers should note that the books must be made of some stout material (linen blind material is excellent), not more than 18in. by 12in.,«with good strong covers. The books may be loose leaf, tied together securely with cord or ribbon. As these are special Christmas books, it will nob be necessary to add reading matter, although you may do .so if you wish. Two Cash Prizes, Five Shillings each, for best albums from boys and girls. CLOSING DATE OF CONTESTS, DECEMBER 12. Further details next week. The idea of a celluloid doll-dressing competition was sent in by Marjorie Cooper, who has be*en awarded a silver star.
