TESTING DAIRY COWS.
INCREASE IN NUMBERS.
LOWER BUTTER-FAT AVERAGE. [raOM OTTB. OWN COBBZSPONDENT.] HAMILTON. Monday. A big increase in the number of cows tested by the New Zealand Co-operative Herd-Testing Association is shown in the association's figures for August, compared with those for the corresponding month last year. There i 3, however, an appreciable drop in the average yield due to seasonal conditions. Last month 44,557 cows were testpd, the average yield being 6371b. of milk and 27.791b. butter-fat. The test was 4.35. In August, 1930, 37,517 cows were tested. The average yield was 6691b, milk and 29.47Tb. butter-fat. The test was 4.3.
