EIGHT HOURS' BATTLE

A message from La Paz, the capital of Bolivia, states that an eight hours' battle has just ended between Bolivian and Paraguayan troops in the disputed frontier zone of the Gran Chaco region. Six Paraguayans are reported to have been killed and many to have been wounded. The Bolivian casualties are not reported. This battle was one of tha series of incidents which have been agitating the two countries for 50 years in the pressing of their rival claims to the rich, unexplored territory lying along their borders.
