MORE TAXATION NECESSARY. (Received September 27. 5.5 p.m.) WASHINGTON*. Sept, 2«. Mr. D. A. Reed, Republican member of the Senate for Pennsylvania, after again advocating to the President, Mr. Hoover, his proposal for a sales tax. said he believed the United States should follow Britain's example and face the music Mr. Reed said ho believed that, unless additional money# were raised by taxation the Treasury's deficit would exceed 1,600,000,000 dollars (more than £310,000,000).
