PLUNKET SOCIETY.
OTAHUHU BRANCH. I The annual meeting of tho Otahuhu j branch of tho Plunket. Society was held last, week, when (ho president, Mrs. A. Murdoch, presided over a good attendance. In the report on the year's activities it was stated J hat the annual children's fancy-dress hall had proved the usual outstanding success, both from an entertainmen I and financial point of view. The cash balance accruing to the branch's funds.totalled £7)6 and there had also been reccivfxl donations at tho Plunket rooms from attending mothers amounting to £l6l 9s lid. These amounts, together with the balance from last year, showed a total fund for the year of £/l 8s lOd. A report was also submitted by the nurse on the work done at the rooms during (lie year and this was adopted as being most satisfactory. The meeting passed a resolution thanking the local bus company for its courtesy in provding free transport for the nurse, and also to all those who had contributed either bv cash, kind or in personal assistance to tho successful year's activities. The committee decided to organise a fancy-dress hall for tho children some time in October, and a member, Mrs. J. McAnulty, offered to arrange an afternoon at her residence in aid of the funds. This offer was accepted with thanks.
