ELECTION OF OFFICERS. [FROM OCR OWN CORRESPONDENT.] WHANGAREI, Saturday. At the adjourned annual meeting of the Portland Horticultural and Industrial Society, it was decided to hold the annual show as usual, and the date was fixed for December 10. The following officers were elected Patron, Sir Georgo Elliot; president, Mr. F. Boyd; general committee, Mesdames F. Boyd, D. Conlon, W. G. Cain, E. Hay, W. J. Dayman, B. Lindsay, R. McLaren, Misses Thompson, Lyon, Poolman, and Pocock; Messrs. 11. V. Cook, R. Coornbridge, F. and 11. Poolman; executive committee, Messrs. A. J. Magee, R. Potter, C. Just, J. MacKenzie, W. Purchase, D. Lorimer, W. G. Cain, I'. Mee, 11. Poole, M. G. Wallace, M. Morgan and L. F. Morgan.
