CHARGE OF ASSAULT.
MAN STRUCK ON FACE. MECHANIC FINED £l. A plea of guilty was entered by Donald lan Mc-Kenzie, aged 29, mechanic, when he was charged in the Police Court on Satul'dcy with assaulting Andrew lies Maguire. Detective-Sergeant Kelly said the offence was committed in a city motorcar workshop on Friday afternoon. Accused disputed the cost of work, which had been done for him, arid struck complainant between the eyes, breaking his goggles. Complainant suffered minor injuries from the broken glass. The magistrate, Mr. F. Iv Hunt, imposed a fine of £l, with costs, £1 7s. Default was fixed at seven days' imprisonment.
