PLACING DOMESTICS.
IMPORTANCE OF COOKING. "There lias been 110 difficulty in placing a gh'l who is a good cook-general," states the annual report of the Wellington Y.W.C.A. in reference to the activities of its bureau for workless women. The report adds: "It is disappointing to note that while a fair percentage of the domestics registered admit they are indifferent cooks, there were very few enrolments for the cookery class inaugurated by the association." It is stated that many women with children dependent on them are urgently needing work, 22 in this situation having registered during the last four months.
