PRESENTATION OF PRIZES.

Pupils of a large number of Sunday schools throughout the city and suburbs attended the annual rally of the Auckland Sunday School Union in the Town Hall on Saturday evening. In the absence of the president, Mr. J. Tyler, through indisposition, the vice-president, Mr. W. H. Newton, presided, and the successful students in the recent Scripture examinations were in the choir seats.

Reference to the importance of Sunday school work and the effect it had on the future life of boys and girls was made by Sir. Newton.

An attractive concert programme was given by the children and assisting artists. The .pupils of the Hukarere Maori Girls' -School sang two Maori hymns. Gymnastic exercises were given by the leader's corps of boys from the Y.M.C.A., and the Sandringbam Methodist Sunday school pupils gave a display of musical drili. A novel item by the Balmoral Presbyterian Girls' Club, and humour by Mr. J. Finlayson, completed the programme. Sir. R. Utting was choir leader and Mr. I. Lambert choir pianist. The prizes won in the recent examinations were presented by Mrs. Tyler. Shields won in the same examinations by the Mount Albert Baptist, Trinity Methodist, Wanganui, Puriri, Thames and Whakapapa Presbyterian Sunday schools were presented by Mr. Newton.
