DAY OF HUMILIATION.
MEMORY OF SLAIN CHINESE. DISTURBANCES IN HONGKONG ATTACKS ON JAPANESE. By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright. (Received September 23, 9.25 p.m.) HONGKONG, Sept. 25. After the Chinese had held a day of humiliation, when flags were at half-mast in memory of the Manchurian Chinese who have been killed, there were several instances in Hongkong of hooliganism and mob violence against Japanese, and their shop windows were smashed. The emergency police patrols engaged in baton charges. The police measures were effective in quelling the disturbances.
