YESTERDAY'S WEATHER.
CONDITIONS IN THE SOUTH. Auckland.—There was a continuation of fine weather yesterday, but the overcast sky was threatening. A light breeze was blowing from the south-west. After being steady all day at oO.OOin. the barometer began falling at a late hour. Wellington.—The weather was unsettled. Rain fell in the morning and later a gusty northerly wind blew with rain. The evening was fine and overcast. Christchurch.—Mild but overcast weather ruled yesterday, the thermometer going up to 57 degrees. The wind was light from the north-east. The barometer dropped 16 points during the day, but registered 29.59 in. in the evening. Dunedin.—The weather was overcast and unsettled with a light breeze from the north-east. The barometer was fall* ing and registered 29.55.in in the even* ing.
