The expert says conditions in Sardinia, where extensive breeding would be attempted, are unsuitable, chiefly because of poor pastures and insufficient winter fodder. Furthermore; experiments have shown that the wool-producing ability of Australian and Argentine sheep "declines when they are brought to Italy. The writer believes that an improvement in the national stock can be attained through a gradual improvement of agricultural conditions, using Australian rams ; only rarely. PRODUCE CARTAGE RATE.
