EXPORT OF FRUIT.
INCREASE IN AUCKLAND. An increase in tho number of boxes of fruit handled during the past season was reported by the chairman of directors of the Auckland Farmers' Freezing Company, Limited, Mr. J. E. Makgill, at tho annual meeting of tho company yes terday. Mr. Makgill said the total num ber of boxes exported through the company was over 100,000 for the first time, the figures showing an increase of over 12A per cent., compared with the previous season The number of boxes stored for local use showed a small decrease, but tho total boxes was considerably greater. "This industry is one of increasing importance to the Dominion," added Mr. Makgill.
