THE ROYAL SHOW.
EXCLUSION OF AUCKLAND. EMPHATIC PROTEST ENTERED. Strong exception to the granting of the Royal Show to tho Manawatu Agricultural Association was taken at a recent meeting of the council of tho Auckland Agricultural and Pastoral Association. Tho association believes that there now is little hope of influencing tho Royal Society to roverse its decision, but it, is making every effort to have the Royal Show allotted to Auckland in 1934. Tho matter was raised at tho annual meeting yesterday, when Mr. C. A. Anderson said more strenuous endeavours should be made by the association. The chairman, Mr. J. T. F. Mitchell, said thero was now no hope of taking the 1932 Royal Show from Manawatu. However, Auckland was determined to obtain (ho 1934 show after it went to Southland in 1933. Mr. S. Austin Carr said the Royal Show Society appeared to have a deeprooted objection to Auckland, and whenever the northern province was mentioned there were cries of protest. The only solution appeared to lie in secession.
It was decided to enter an emphatic protest against Auckland's exclusion from tho Royal Show circuit.
