IGNORANT AUSTRALIAN.
CONFIDENCE TRICK FAILS. | MAN WITH ENOUGH MONEY. LONDON", Sept. 23. So much has been heard of Australians fall regular victims to confidence men thai it is refreshing to learn of a Western Australian storekeeper from the iWiluna district' iwhose sublime ignorance saved him. The usual rosaty beads were dropped near this tall, bronzed Australian, who had been for upwards of 25 years on the goldfields. There were the usual introductions and the usual fortune to distribute to charity. J he. Australian listened with interest to stories of his new-found friends, and then said he had all the money he wanted and did not care to take part in the scheme. He spent the right writing out a list, but has not seen his rich friend since.
