The New Zealand cricketers left London this morning on their return to the Pominion and embarked on the Ruahine for Auckland at the Royal Albert Docks. They were accompanied by a party o! English cricketers and friends, who are making the trip to Southampton. The Ruahine is to leave Southampton at noon to-morrow. She is due at Auckland on November 1. All the members of the team are fit and well. Several of them played in charity matches in the last few days before their departure. The captain, Mr. T. C. Lowry, in an interview, said he was highly pleased with the results of the tour. Although the weather frequently had handicapped the side, its record was quite satisfactory and showed the continued progress of New' Zealand cricket. / The players had all done their hest to make the tour a success. He was highly pleased with their performances on the field and their behaviour off it. He thought the side had been a credit to New Zealand. Mr. Donnelly is not returning with the team. He expressed his admiration of the players for the high reputation they ' had left behind and said he understood that never had a more popular side visited England. J, E. Mills was married quietly in London a few days ago. His bride is a young Canadian girl. She is to proceed to New Zealand by a later boat. C. S. Dempster gained the distinction of having his portrait published in WisdenV Almanack as one of the five cricketers of the year. The other four are the Nawab of Pataudi, Verity, Bowes and Langridge.
