LADIES' HOCKEY.
CLEVEDON JUNIORS WIN. Tlio Auckland Ladies' Hockey Association's competitions were continued in all grades on Saturday. In the senior and intermediate grades one match only remains to ho played before the championship competitions end. r J ho junior competition was concluded ou Saturday. Clevedon and Mount Eden fought out the final, the former ultimately running out the champion team. A summary of points gained bv the respective junior grade teams is as follows:—Clevedon, 24; Mount Kden. 23; Y.W.G.A., 21; Kiwi, 15; Technical, 14; Manurewa, 3; Wesley B, 6; Wesley A, 1. Several teams were short on Saturday on account of players suffering from influenza. Vapatoetoe was one short in its match against Clevedon. During the first quarter of an hour I'apatoetOo was able to withstand its more experienced opponents. The Clevedon forwards then settled down, and seven goals were scored by Misses T. Stephens, I. Hyde, 1). Ifyde, aiid K. Shaw. Papa toot oe was able to find the net only twice, Misses Kingsford arid Leonard scoring. The surprise of th* afternoon was provided bv (lie Y.W.C.A. senior team in its game with Wesley. The so far unbeaten Wesley team almost had its colours lowered. Wesley appeared to be slightly disorganised in the half lino, the centre half failing to keep her position throughout.
